Use Indoor House Plants To Liven Up Your Home

Bring life to your home with indoor house plants It seems so unfair, but some people seem to have the ability to fill their houses with a wide variety of flourishing indoor house plants whilst others either kill them with kindness or leave them a little too much to their own devices, either way turning a colourful thriving plant into a pile of dropped leaves and bare twigs. Many people agree that nothing quite brings a house to life more than a good variety of indoor bamboo plants, adding a splash of colour to an otherwise dull corner, or just a good old window sill filled with fragrant blooms in a variety of colours, shapes and sizes. So what do you need to do to keep your indoor house plants healthy, or simply alive? Is there some secret society which only green fingered people are allowed to join? Is there some technical reason why some people are just so much better at it than others? Is it important to know the difference between a potted palm and a fern? Firstly, it’s important to think about where you want the indoor house plant to be placed and buy a plant which is actually suitable for that location. Don’t be afraid to ask questions at your local garden centre or even online, there are plenty of people who do have green fingers (not literally you understand) and who are only to willing to help out the rest of us who gaze in awe at the wonderful displays of our friends and neighbours then go home and drown our last remaining hibiscus. Different plants thrive in different conditions, and indoor flowering plants are no exception. In fact, most plants will be quite happy as long as they have sufficient light, sufficient water (not too much, that’s one of the biggest problems actually, the never ending cycle of drought followed by flood) and are kept free from drafts. Many indoor flowering plants can be happy outside as well as indoors. One good idea is to simply bring in plants which are in bloom to get the full enjoyment of the flowers and the perfume, and then take them back outside when the flowers have died down and replace them with another if possible. This means that they can really enjoy the flowers to the full and fill their homes with not only the vibrant colours but often a wonderful fragrance too. It doesn’t really matter whether you are good with indoor house plants or whether they simply shrivel up within a week of your care, one thing that everyone agrees is that it’s the quickest and easier way to brighten up an otherwise dull corner of a room. The lovely greens of the foliage and the bright colours of the flowers can quickly give a room a whole new lease of life.
